It has taken time.
It has taken much effort.
It has taken patience.
Now all it needs is the signature of President Barack Obama.
When that happens, the commemorative Mark Twain Coin will be minted, and the money used for purchases will go Twain sites across the country, including the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum in Hannibal, the Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford, Conn., the Center for Mark Twain Studies at Elmira College in Elmira, N.Y., where Twain is buried, and the Mark Twain Papers & Project at the Bancroft Library of the University of California-Berkley.
"It's on the way to the president for his signature," Henry Sweets, curator of the Hannibal museum said. "Some questions were raised about the language (of the bill) and it had to go back. The changes had to be approved by both the House and the Senate, and that's what was done."
No tax dollars will be used to produce the coins, which are expected to be ready in 2016.?
